A hydrocarbon consisting of only carbon and hydrogen is completely combusted in an apparatus designed to collect the products. When 1.43g of the hydrocarbon is burned, 2.39 grams of water and 4.40 grams of carbon dioxide is collected. Determine the empirical formula of the hydrocarbon. Name the hydrocarbon.
