You have a small pond in your backyard it has a ph of 7 and an alkalinity of 10-3. Calculate the concentrations of carbonite species. Is it in equilibrium with the atmosphere? Your neighbor has a pond with the sam pH and alkalinity, but its lined with marble chips( it is in equilibrium with calcite). Determine concentrations of Ca2+, HCO3-, CO32-, and H2CO3.
