Its a little difficult to find articles related to society changing technologies, so I'm being a little liberal in my definition. Apple is indisputably a major factor in the impact of PCs and Cell Phones on society. Their work in user interfaces has made a dramatic impact on how computers are used and how we interact with them. My question is does this give Apple the right to start to interfere with personal communications by imposing their views on how you share things with others?

Gun control is a major issue that society needs to somehow address. Apple has decided that it would eliminate its pistol emoji as a way of stating their beliefs. They also change messages so that what they feel are inappropriate emojis will be changed on incoming messages to be more in line with what Apple feels is appropriate. Should this be Apple's decision and right? Does personal communications need to be Politically Correct or should we be able to add what we feel are emojis that reflect our mood and feelings? What do you think.
