The Triangle Shirtwaist fire of 1911 was one of the deadliest industrial fires in U.S. history. Much has been done since it happened to ensure that safety is built into the planning and construction of industrial and commercial buildings.

Search the internet to find an occupancy checklist for a public building (not a home, but a factory, store, school, or other public occupancy building). An occupancy checklist is the last thing that must be completed before a public building can be occupied. Then do research on the internet about the Triangle Shirtwaist building safety issues that made the fire so deadly.
