Select a research topic and undertake a review and classification of literature on the topic. This review will serve as a roadmap indicating the current state and direction of research topics for both academics and practitioners. Thus, the overall aims are as follows:

   1.      Explore and explain the conceptual underpinnings of the research topic;

  II.      Categorize and analyze the research issues concerning the research topic. Cross-tabulate and
analyze research issues with other relevant variables (e.g. sector, level of analysis);

  iii.     Categorize and analyze the theoretical and conceptual approaches used for understanding the
research topic;

  IV.   Assess methodologies used to carry out research studies, and evaluate the evidence from
those studies;

If relevant, assess the geographical distribution of the empirical research studies and evaluate
the similarities and differences in research issues across the different geographic regions; and

  VI.    Identify key research trends and gaps relating to: a) issues addressed and questions raised; b)
theoretical and conceptual approaches; c) methodologies; d) geographic representation of
research; and, e) future research directions in the area.

The review should serve as a useful research synthesis, excellent for future research in the research
area. Your paper should not be more than 9,000 words including references (appendices) and it should
have single line spacing. Font size 12, APA referencing. Your written answer should be in the form of a research paper.
