Question
Start-up evangelists constantly tell us that in order to understand customer needs we must get out of the building. For this portion of the assignment you must find and ask questions of 2 potential customers. Customers are the people who pay you money, not necessarily the end-user. You should spend time brainstorming about the customer who receives the most value from your product or service. The purpose of this assignment is to gain additional information to help you improve/iterate your idea and determine whether this is a viable opportunity. Consider using social media to find individuals or businesses that are relevant. If your idea is B to C then something such as FB might work, but if it is B to B then you might want to use something such as LinkedIn. You will develop a list of specific relevant questions to gain your desired feedback from the potential customers.
1. Write a paragraph explaining your product/service.
2. Include a short paragraph explaining the customer segment you identified to interview and why
3. Develop a list of a minimum of 5-6 questions you identified as important to ask these potential customers and explain why these specific questions are important (specifically, what are you trying to learn from them?)
4. In a paragraph, create one summary of your 2 interviews explaining what you collectively learned from them and explain how these findings affect the business idea. Did they confirm everything that you thought? Did you learn something new that was unexpected? If so, what?
5. As an addendum, include each of your 2 interview forms which show the questions asked and the interviewee's responses.
