Assignment:

1. Provide a description of the types of events where you are required, as part of your duties as Ranger, to monitor public behaviour in an area under council jurisdiction
2. List and give a short description of the relevant council ordinances, legislation, policies and procedures and emergency management that apply to crowd behaviour and control. If possible, provide a copy of your council's emergency management procedures which includes the roles of emergency services
3. Explain your personal responsibilities and liability
4. Provide and describe two examples of the types of crowd behaviours that you have monitored, and the skills you used including verbal and interpersonal skills
5. In relation to the examples above, provide a description of the environmental conditions, terrain, facilities and demographics, and cultural/language diversity present
6. Explain how you mediate and resolve conflict using assertive communication techniques
7. Explain what you consider to be offensive behaviour and your reactions to it
8. If members of the public informed you that they were going to have an event in the area's main park, what responsibilities would you tell them that they have
9. If they were not compliant, what types of incidents would prompt you to recommend to other officers or agencies that they should not be given access in future
10. Describe the incident recording processes you are required to follow
11. Develop a list of the types of relevant public safety requirements
12. If you located a distressed person at a public event, what steps would you take
13. Describe the follow-up post incident procedures required.
