Your chemiluminescence reaction will actually occur very slowly in air. What component of air will bring about this reaction and what is its approximate concentration in air? If you had a stoppered flask with basic luminol and then opened it to the air, why would the chemiluminescence be more pronounced than with the flask stoppered? Why is the chemiluminescence even more pronounced with the ferricyanide/hydrogen peroxide mixture?
