a) Offer a critique of that argument. In particular, explain what the very-long-term consequences would be. 

b) An alternative hypothesis is that the recent orders-of-magnitude increase in human population size will provide a "genetic tune-up" for the human population. This is a decidedly minority opinion. Offer a critique of that argument, and explain whether you find the "dire consequences" or "genetic tune-up" to be more convincing.
