A waste containing 10,000 mg/L sulfuric acid is neutralized by the addition of concentrated lime slurry [Ca(OH)2]. If the water temperature is 15 degrees Celsius before neutralization, what is the temperature after neutralization? Note that the heat capacity for water s 4.184 J/g - degrees C. Because you are given a concentration of acid reacted, it will be convenient to find the heat generated on a per volume basis as well (i.e, use the density of water instead of the mass of water).
