Consider an aqueous solution of 1M FeCl2. Two inert electrodes are immersed in the solution. If a voltage is applied to the electrodes, what oxidation 1/2 reaction will most likely take place at the surface of one electrode and what reduction 1/2 reaction will most likely take place at the surface of the other electrode? Hint: list possible 1/2 reactions at each electrode, assign voltages then decide. Repeat the above analysis except replace the inert electrodes with copper metal electrodes
