Assignment:

You are carrying out a survey on the use of social media among young people aged 12 to 18. you choose of 500 young people recruited via an advertisement sent to all employees of a university with children of this age and you develop a questionnaire on the frequency of visits to the most used platforms (Youtube, TikTok, Snapchat , Instagram, Facebook) as well as time spent on each platform on each visit.

Your mandate is to determine the total number of hours spent on the different platforms each week in this population as well as to identify certain segments of the population with different usage profiles.

(1) Explain the steps to follow in terms of data preparation and analysis in order to go from raw (unmodified) data to the number of hours spent on social media in your sample

(2) Explain the information you will present in your report and an example of segments (or subgroups) you will consider in your analysis 

(3) Identify a source of random error and a source of systematic error in your study

Make sure your answers are applied to the context of the study.
