Burglary and frauds are types of crimes that can affect victims financially. They both can be difficult crimes to solve. Frauds have become easier to commit with the advances in technology. Innovative criminals are finding new ways to deceive people into paying for services that do not exist or giving up their rights in some other way. In both of these types of crimes, an astute knowledgeable investigator may uncover evidence that may assist in identifying a suspect.

For this week's discussion, please respond to each of the following:

You have been dispatched to a commercial burglary where the suspect has fled. Explain the steps that you would take during the preliminary investigation and highlight the different types of evidence that you may find at a burglary scene. Based upon your reading, what are some suggestions that you can make to the victim in an event to deter future burglaries?

The textbook identifies and explains many different types of frauds. Select one that interests you and briefly summarize it for the class and give an example that is not in your textbook.
