During the experiment of an acid catalyzed dehydration of a secondary alcohol, an elimination reaction (E1) is experienced, and a gas chromatography is performed. On the gas chromatography graph, 3 peaks will result along with the fourth peak being the starting material, which is suppose to be a small peak. What factors could contribute to the starting material peak to be very large?
