The phosphate anion (PO4 ^3-) is common in minerals. The corresponding nitrogen-containing anion NO4^3, is unstable but can be prepared by reacting sodium nitrate with sodium oxide at 300 degrees C. Draw Lewis structures for each anion. What are the differences in bonding between these ions?
