Can someone please help me figure out how to start to do this question? I need the logic explained and I need to see how to progressively go about each step so that it makes sense to me.
A 25ml sample of solution containing thallium(I) (TI) was treated with K2CrO4 to perticipate thallium chromate. The solid TI2CrO4 was filtered, washed to remove excess chromate, and then dissolved in dilute H2SO4. The dicromate (Cr2O7-2) produced was titrated with 40.60ml of 0.1004M Fe2+ solution. What was the mass (g) of TI (element 81)in the sample?
What is the system? What is the surrounding? In what direction does the heat flow? Is the process endothermic or exothermic?
A mixture of heptane/decane at 1.8 bar, 120?C contains 80% by mol heptane. At what pressure should it be flashed to obtain a stream that is 90% rich in heptane? What are the composition of the liquid and the amounts of the two phases?
A single pulse of a laser yields an average of 5.00 × 1018 photons with λ = 633 nm. If melting ice to water at 0°C requires 6.01 kJ/mol, what is the fewest number of laser pulses need to melt 10.0g of ice?
If 7.85 x 10 to the 24th power Sc atoms react with excess CaO, how many grams of each product will form? You will need to determine the equation of the reaction.
A graduated cylinder contains 155 mL of water. A 15.0 g piece of iron (density = 7.86 ) and a 20.0 g piece of lead are added. What is the new water level in the cylinder?
What is the change in the freezing point of a solution made by dissolving 14.7 g of C6H1206 into 150.0 ml of water? The density of water is 1.00 g/mL and Kf=1.86C/m.
If one were to perform carbon dating on living clams instead of getting a zero age ( they are in fact living) one would get an age of approximately 400 years old for these living clams.
An aqueous solution was found in a bottle labelled "100. ppm Ca2+ standard." Assuming that 1) all calcium ions in the solution came from calcium carbonate (CaCO3 molar mass is 100.0 g/mol)
A 10.00 ml sample of 0.254 M H2SO4 is titrated with 0.385 M NaOH. What volume of the NaOH solution, in mL, is required?
The nitrate ion (NO3-) is a very poor nucleophile. In fact, solvents such as water or methanol (also weak nucleophiles) are more reactive nucleophiles than the nitrate ion
Suppose .30 mol of Ammonia and .40 mol of oxygen are added to a 5L container. If Y mol of water is present at equilibrium, calculate the equilibrium concentration of oxygen?
A copper cube measuring 1.58cm on edge and an aluminum cube measuring 1.68cm on edge are both heated to 56.4 degrees C and submerged in 100.0mL of water at 21.6 degrees C. What is the final temperature of the water when equilibrium is reached? (As..
