What monomers they are comprised of (i.e. what do we string together to make each of the large molecules?). Be able to visually identify an example of each macromolecule.

2. Which would yield more energy if broken down, glucose or a triglyceride?

3. Define the following terms: monosaccharide, disaccharide, polysaccharide. What is glycogen?

4. Explain the processes of diffusion and osmosis. What drives the movement of molecules? What would the direction of water movement be if a cell was placed in a hypotonic, isotonic or hypertonic solution?
