In December 1999, drug and diagnostic producer, Abbott Laboratories, was fined $100 million dollars by FDA and had to recall very large number of products from market. None of these products was alleged to be defective, which is usual cause of fines and recalls. Abbott had to undertake massive corrective action program. Fines, recalls, and expenses for corrective actions completely disrupted all project plans at company. Using library resources, determine reason for this recall and fine.
