Brief Course Description:

This course introduces the fundamental concepts and applications of intelligent systems. It introduces various concepts of popular intelligent systems techniques and how they can be applied to provide solutions to specific information systems problems. The course also introduces the criteria for measuring the successful application of intelligent systems techniques.

Course objectives:

The objectives of this course are to:

• Introduce fundamental intelligent systems concepts that establish the foundation of applying intelligent systems to information systems problems.

• Introduce popular intelligent systems techniques that are suitable for solving various types of information systems problems.

• Introduce the application of intelligent systems to information systems problems

Expected learning outcomes:

By the end of this course, a student should be able to:

• Explain key concepts associated with intelligent systems and how the are applied to information systems problems.

• Describe several intelligent systems methodologies (e.g. expert systems, neural networks, genetic algorithms, etc.) and their application to intelligent systems problems

• Develop various applications of intelligent systems.

• Evaluate the application of intelligent systems in solving information systems problems.
