Case: You are going to focus on security details. Think about a laptop theft involved in a Compliant Hospital leaking patient information. Then think about the Security Rule and what it is meant to do. What it is meant to do.

Once you have reflected on these issues, pick a Standard from one of the three Safeguards that we studied in this module (Administrative, Physical, Technical) that you think would help prevent the laptop incident (or one like it) from recurring in the future. When you have selected a Standard (e.g., Facility Access Controls), do the following:

Cite the Standard.
Identify the Safeguard that it belongs to.
Describe the Standard.
Indicate whether the Standard has Implementation Specifications and whether they are required (R) or addressable (A); and
Explain how you would implement the standard to prevent a repeat of the laptop incident. What real world steps would you take? It is not enough to say that you would implement policies or security measures. You must be specific. What would the policies say? What security features would you add? Be creative.
