I would argue however, that your first example for negative reinforcement would actually be negative punishment. To me, the example of "remove a teenager's phone privileges if they don't finish their chores." would remove a desirable item from the environment (phone privileges) to reduce the future likelihood of the behavior (NOT finishing their chores). Could you explain how you viewed this as negative reinforcement?
