What I want you to do is discuss how your chosen document relates to the historical period during which it was written. In other words, is there information in the text that tells you more about the British history from 1688 to 1750 or resonates with information that you are obtaining from the textbook? Be sure to quote from the document to substantiate the argument that you are making. What I am not interested in is how the document might be relevant to the present; instead I want you to present your document as a close-up picture of a small moment of the past as it really was: how were they perceiving issues, what problems needed to be addressed, what language did they use (sometimes difficult for us in the 21st century to understand) to frame their approach to contemporary problems. In general, what you are trying to do is contextualize the document you are working on.
