Assignment:

Utilizing a macrosociological perspective, explain how social structure is coercive of group behavior. In other words, how does social structure control us to such a degree that we do not even think about our actions? We merely act robotically, mindlessly, or habitually. Give two examples in one paragraph. Helpful hint: A macrosociological example would most likely discuss how social institutions (i.e. social institutions of education, economy, religion, etc.) control the masses without us even realizing we are being controlled. Please do not use the examples provided already (media and criminal justice system).
