Public perceptions of health risks
In the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition (July 2005), University of Basel (Switzerland) psychologists tested the ability of people to judge risk of an infectious disease. The researchers asked German college students to estimate the number of people who are infected with a certain disease in a typical year. The median estimates as well as the actual incidence rate for each in a sample of 24 infections are provided in the table. Consider the quadratic model, E(y) = β0 + β1x + β2x2, where y = actual incidence rate and x = estimated rate.
(a) Fit the quadratic model to the data, then conduct a test to determine if incidence rate is curvilinearly related to estimated rate. (Use α = .05.)(b) Construct a scatterplot for the data. Locate the data point for Botulism on the graph. What do you observe?(c) Repeat part a, but omit the data point for Botulism from the analysis. Has the fit of the model improved? Explain.
Provide students with a basic understanding of several quantitative techniques that are used extensively for decision making in business.
A Joint probability density function is given by the following function: c * y-2 x-3 if x > 1, y > 1, and x > y f(x,y) = c * x-2 y-3 if x > 1, y > 1, and y > x 0 otherwise
quantitative analysis for decision making class please write for each summarizing with highlights of the review items
The median income for a four-person family has been reported as shown here for 1993-2003.- Construct a line graph describing these data over time.
A formal statement that there is an absence of relationship between variables when tested by a researcher is called what?1.Null hypothesis?
Calculating the median requires data of at least what scale?
Use these data to develop an estimated regression equation that could be used topredict the total cost for a given production volume and what is the variable cost per unit produced

The mean sales per customer µ for all of the sales for your company last month is not known. Based on your past experience, you are willing to assume that the population standard deviation of sales, σ, is about $220. If you take a random sample of 10..
A sample of 40 observations is selected from a normal population. The sample mean is 31, and the population standard deviation is 3. Conduct the given test of hypothesis using the 0.05 significance level.
GB513 - Hypothesis Testing: Describing a single population - Can we conclude that this belief is correct, based on productivity observation of 50 trainees which was found to have an average of 460.38 and standard deviation 38.83?
