Guidelines for the development of an effective compliance program are provided by the Federal Register, the Office of the Inspector General and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, along with other health agencies. All healthcare providers must obey the laws. Staff members are protected as well as patients when an effective compliance program is developed and put in placeThere are a number of levels of laws, rules, and regulations that must be followed in the delivery of health care services.
