CASE SCENARIO

A 65-year-old black female was admitted to ER having stroke and previous history of coronary artery diseases , hypertension and chronic renal failure and who was on dialysis. The condition of patient was unstable and then shifted to Intensive care unit for further care.

The history took from the family members. She was on ventilator support and unable to communicate. The patient had also myocardial infarction with increased troponin level. Family was saying that please provide the appropriate treatment to our loved one as much as possible.

Question 1. Explain in detail ethical principle for family when making decision at the end of life. Like- Withholding/withdrawing of medical interventions.
