Beta-carotene is organge. This means it absorbs blue lgiht. It has conjguated systme which allows the pi-electrons to delocalize over teh length of the molecule. Assuming an absoorption of 470 nm light and 20 pi electrons ina carotene molecule, what is the length of this molecule in nm and in typical CC bond lengths?
