1. Suppose that you are a manager of a company located in your home community. You want to discharge an employee but are uncertain as to whether or not you can do this legally. Describe what sources of employment law you would have to research to attempt to answer this question. Specifically describe any government levels or particular court whose enactment or decision would be relevant to your company.
2. Locate a state or federal court case concerning an employment law issue. You should be able to find such a case in a local library or on the Internet. List the title of the case, the name of the court that decided it, and the year in which it was decided. Then prepare a brief summary of the facts of the case, the result that was reached by the court, and the main reasons given by the court for reaching the result. Try to select a short simple case. If you located your case on the Internet, please include as part of your answer the web page address of your case.
