An organic compound of molecular formula C10 H12 O2 reacts with both aqueous NaOH and aqueous NaHCO3. The compound reacts with Br2/FeBr3 to yield 2 products which can easily be separated from each other and each has molecular formula C10 H11 O2 Br.
