A brewery has a horizontal conveyor belt to transfer malted barley from a storage silo to the mash tun (the large vessel where the malted barley is steeped in hot water). The conveyor belt is composed of scoops that each hold 4.50 lb of malted barley and are separated by a distance of 14.0 inches on the belt. If 5.500 × 103 lb of malted barley is added to 2063 gallons of water in 4.75 min, what is the rate at which kinetic energy is transported into the mash tun by the conveyor belt?
