Stress in the Workplace

Stress in the workplace has been defined differently over the years. With the initial definition it was assumed that stress is conceived of as a pressure from the environment, and then causes great strain to the individual. It is generally accepted that stress is an interaction between the individual and the situation. It is usually the psychological and psychical state that results when the resources of an individual are not sufficient to cope with the challenges in the work situation. Signs of stress can be seen especially in the changes in behavior of people at work.
