1. Should associates be required to work in teams if they prefer not to do so-that is, if they prefer to be evaluated based only on their individual efforts? What are the implications of allowing people such choices (positive or otherwise)?
2. Is it appropriate to exclude some members from teams when status and long-term rewards (such as promotions) in an organization are based largely on team performance?
3. What types of sanctions (if any) should be imposed on team members identified as engaging in social loafing? Who should apply those sanctions (if any)?
4. What are team leaders' responsibilities with regard to political processes within the organization? That is, when other individuals outside the team promote their own self-interests at the expense of the organization, especially when these actions have negative effects on the team's productivity, what should team leaders do? How can they best fulfill these responsibilities to the team and to the organization?
