The atomic-force microscope probe shown in Fig. 29.31 has a stainless steel cantilever that is 450 μ m × 40 μ m × 2 μ m. Using equations from solid mechanics, estimate the stiffness of the cantilever, and the force required to deflect the end of the cantilever by 1 μ m.
