Assignment:
Patient X, 37 years old, who works at Techno park as an industrial factory manager in aluminum production was rushed to the emergency room due to an accident that happened in this workplace. He was already leaving after his rounds when a worker ran into him spilling the 50% hydrofluoric acid the worker was carrying. Upon assessment using the Rule of Nine, the estimated Total Body Surface area Burned (TBSA) is 33.75%.
Initial evaluation revealed tachycardic with 110 bpm moderately hypotensive with 199/60 mmHg blood pressure, tachypnea with a respiratory rate of 25 bpm, hypothermic with a temperature of 34 degree celsius and Sp02- 97% with readily apparent full thickness (3rd degree) burns to the anterior torso and abdomen, full right anterior arm, right inferior distal arm and full right anterior leg.
Nurse noted dry and leathery skin with white coloration and swelling. Secondary evalutaion revealed no further injuries (non burn injuries or trauma) Upon essesment of pain and sensations the patient verbalized " Mahapdi yung paligid pero parang namamanhid yung mismong sugat" and rated 8/10 in the pain scale.
