Question

Homework and lesson enrichment serve different purposes in education. Homework reinforces skills taught in class, while enrichment expands learning beyond the core material. (Taylor, 2019). In a Global 9 class studying the Aztec, Inca, and Maya, homework might include completing a map of Mesoamerica or answering questions from a textbook to review key facts. Enrichment, however, could involve researching modern traditions influenced by these civilizations or comparing them to other ancient societies. For example, students might explore how the Inca's road system compares to Roman roads, encouraging deeper thinking. While homework focuses on practice and retention, enrichment builds curiosity and higher-level understanding. Both are valuable, but enrichment offers students a chance to apply knowledge creatively. This creates for student growth and improved confidence on the topic.
