1. As you are aware, we have been placing a great emphasis on learning about highly applicable concepts so that we could employ them within our workplace. A necessary condition that needs to be fulfilled for the successful employment of these practical concepts involves "knowing in what situations and under what circumstances we can actually apply and benefit from such methods, tools, and techniques." Informed by this introduction, "engineering organizational networks to evolve desired behaviors" represents a key applicable concept that we learned about during Week 5. After carefully reviewing the corresponding lecture materials, identify at least three (3) scenarios in which you can/should "engineer a network to evolve a desired behavior." These scenarios can be from your workplace, a colleague's company, or a famous case that you heard about from the news or social media (e.g., the tensions among key political figures about effective strategies for national security such as whether or not to build a wall).
2. After carefully reading the article, "The People Who Make Organizations Go or Stop," select an informal network that you have been a part of and identify the four common role-players as described in the article whose performance was/is critical. It is important that you justify the role that you assign to each individual. As a fun alternative, you can select an informal network from a famous movie (e.g., the Godfather) and complete the above task.
