Presidential Election polls are just a form of descriptive statistics. For example, a national poll may show one candidate ahead by 9% among people that are college educated and down by 5% among people that do not have a college degree.

Why is it important to not confuse descriptive research (such as the hypothetical example above) and correlational research?

Why is it important to follow the business research process (in your book), before making decisions based on descriptive statistics?
