Since the end of dual federalism in the 1930s, it appears the US national government has gradually waded into the policy domains of states. Explore the following areas through which the Federal government has increased its Constitutional powers beyond what even the framers anticipated: economic downturns, natural disasters, civil rights, commerce, education, national defense, voting rights and health care.
