Analyzing the Effectiveness of Performance Management Programs
Throughout this course we have examined the importance of performance management programs, as well as the elements that should be considered in the planning and design stages of these programs. After a performance management program has been implemented, how will you ensure that the program is guiding your organization toward the intended outcomes? Consider the consequences when a human resources department implements a performance management system but fails to monitor how it is performing. What impact could this have on the overall performance of the organization? When should the overall effectiveness of a performance management plan be evaluated, and who should be involved in the process?
Post a cohesive and scholarly response based on your readings and research this week that addresses the following:
How would you analyze the effectiveness of a performance management program within an organization? How would you evaluate whether or not the program had been implemented as planned? What measures can be established to monitor and evaluate a performance management program? What are the benefits of ensuring the continued effectiveness of a performance management program?
Be specific and provide examples with references to the literature provided this week.
