Problem: Two researchers are studying the effect of diet on the occurrence of polyps in the colon. 

Researcher A hypothesizes that eating more berries will reduce the number of polyps seen in a colonoscopy. She takes a sample of 100 subjects who are scheduled to have colonoscopy and asks them to keep a "diet diary" the week before the colonoscopy. After the procedure is completed, she finds that there is a significant relationship between berry consumption and the number of polyps with a p-value of 0.03.

Researcher B hypothesizes that there is likely to be some foods that will reduce the number of polyps seen in a colonoscopy. She takes a sample of 100 subjects who are scheduled to have colonoscopy and asks them to keep a "diet diary" the week before the colonoscopy. After the procedure is completed, she examines all 218 different foods in the diaries and finds that there is a significant relationship between broccoli consumption and the number of polyps with a p-value of 0.02.
