Draw the blue print of the following case.
Consider the Philadelphia Public Defender's office, and the individuals involved in the processing the case of a mentally ill client. The individuals involved are shown on the next page in separate columns. The goal is to direct those clients that are mentally ill to an appropriate recovery program. The process starts with the client meeting an attorney. The attorney determines that the client might be mentally ill. If the client is not mentally ill, the attorney follows other procedures. If the attorney feels the client is mentally ill, he refers the case to the Social Services Department Manager. If the referral is accepted, a social worker is assigned to the case. If the referral is not accepted because there are not enough social workers, the case is sent back to the attorney and the attorney follows other procedures with the client. The assigned social worker meets with the client, and tries to determine what type of mental illness the client has, and what plan is best suited for this client. After the meeting, the social worker writes and prints a detailed memo containing the outcome of the interview, as well as their recommendations for the client's future. The memo is hand delivered to the attorney, and the attorney verifies the reception.
Next the attorney presents the recommendations to the judge at the trial. If the judge approves the plan, the client is released into a program and the case is closed. If the judge rejects the plan, the file goes back to the social worker to determine a new plan. Another trial is held, and the attorney presents the new plan to the judge and the process continues........
