Discussion: As you learned in textbook chapter 10, the Monroe Doctrine outlined U.S. foreign policy during President Monroe's tenure. In summary, the policy stated that America would only get involved in foreign affairs if its interests were directly threatened, that America was the dominant power in the Western Hemisphere, and that America would view any interference in the Western Hemisphere as an act of aggression.

Consider current U.S. involvement in foreign countries' affairs. In your opinion, does the United States still adhere to some of the Monroe Doctrine's tenets? Why or why not?
