In the letter, DIAMOND stated that Alice had ten days to accept. On June 15, Alice sent DIAMOND a fax that stated, “Would you please consider paying $12,500?” DIAMOND received the fax. The next day, Bill offered to conduct the audit for $8300. On learning of Bill’s offer, Alice immediately e-mailed DIAMOND, agreeing to do the work for $12,000. DIAMOND received this e-mail on June 16.
