Scenario: While updating the current policy and procedures manual, the HIM director realizes that there is not a current policy and procedure for e-discovery. The HIM director asks you to create a policy and procedure for e-discovery that meets the criteria for the electronic discovery reference model and to establish a schedule for review and maintenance of the policy.
Create a policy and procedure for establishing e-discovery guidelines for the organization in compliance with the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM). Be sure that your policy/procedure contains a schedule for review and maintenance.

Based on your policy and article review, evaluate how HIM roles will change through implementation of the e-discovery amendments. Choose at least one area where you predict future challenges for HIM managers (i.e., training). Provide summary, with supportive references, in a 1-page paper.
