In this module, you looked at George Washington's farewell address and had a chance to see how international events, (like the French Revolution), impacted things within our own nation. George Washington believed that isolation was the best course of action for the nation but that isolation became increasingly more difficult as the world industrialized. Consider today and how easily we can communicate with someone that is on the otherside of the globe from us.

After you've reviewed George Washington's reasoning and hopefully taken some time to consider your own thoughts about globalization, please answer the following:

Question 1. Do you think isolation was the right call then? Do you think we should be more isolated now?

Question 2. What are the benefits of isolation? Do they outweight the benefits of globalization?

Question 3. If you were the leader of America today and had to pick one route of foreign policy, would you go for isolation or embrace globalization? Why?
