This information was all available to the public for many years. Back then, a lady parole officer in New York who was a private pilot, was hunted down and attacked at her residence by one of her parolees. He found her address through the FAA database. Because of this, the FAA made this information private. But a few years ago, the FAA reversed their policy. It's all public again. People who market their products and services to pilots/mechanics use this database information daily.
