You are the president of a soft-drink bottling company. Drivers who own their trucks and who are paid on a commission basis deliver your products. These drivers work their own hours, and they pay their assistants. You consider these drivers to be independent contractors. One of the drivers crashes negligently crashes into another motorist.

Do you have any liability for the damages to the other motorist?

Does your contract, which provides the driver is an independent contractor, protect you from liability from the third-party motorist?
