In the lecture slides, I discussed the rise of fascism and Nazism that swept Europe during the 1930s. The Japanese simultaneously expanded their empire by invading northern China and the rest of Southeast Asia. The Allied forces eventually fought the Fascist, Nazi, and Imperial Japanese aggressors during World War II.

However, by the time the war commenced, the Japanese and the Nazis conquered and amassed large territories with most of the world either appeasing them or looking the other way. Most of the world (including the US) did not wish to see another war as devastating as World War I. The question for this week is, do you believe other alternatives were available to the US and the rest of the world to avoid war while suppressing the Nazi and Japanese aggression? Do you believe war was unavoidable and inevitable given the circumstances? What is your take on the US's stance on neutrality during the early years of war? Answer in full and do take a stand. Use evidence from the lectures to support your answer.
