Assignment:
I need help with a response to the following.
Discuss the difference between law and ethics and describe how allowing both to guide your actions will make you a stronger medical professional.
In the medical field, understanding that there are laws we must follow are to protect others and ourselves. We live in a society prompt to sued healthcare workers (Fremgen, 2020). That does not mean that the person is guilty, but it can affect that person or the institution's reputation.
Ethics are a person's moral values. It will guide how the person will follow the law or rules. In the medical field, is expected that everyone will make the right choice (Fremgen, 2020) when an ethical issue arises. There is a lot of personal information the medical workers will get from patients, and it is important to understand that it must be respected and kept confidential.
Medical laws and ethics go along with each other. Following both will help find solutions to problems and make good decisions while keeping the laws.
I believe that a person with strong ethics will follow the law (rules) with no issues and not because they do not want to be sued or in any trouble but because it is the right thing to do.
