Entrepreneurs envision what could be as they encounter opportunity. In other words, what would the ideal outcome look like? They apply divergent thinking to generate many possibilities. However, another kind of thinking helps entrepreneurs flexibly alter their venture as new opportunities emerge. Effectual entrepreneurs start by considering their means: Who am I, what do I know, whom do I know? Entrepreneurs also consider the other resources at their disposal-facilities, funding, equipment, and more-to determine what they can accomplish.
